Victoria has some breathtaking National Parks, hiking trails and forest walks. It truly is surprising how much beauty you can find right at your door.
About an hour from Melbourne and only a 10 minute drive from the town of Warburton, the forest of beautiful pine trees await! They were planted in the 1930s, which means the trees are nearing a century! How amazing is that?
It is a pretty easy drive and there is also a car park, we recommend getting there early morning to make sure you get a spot and also avoid the crowds if you wanted a quiet time. The best part of this location is that it is beautiful rain or shine in any season. The trees provide plenty of shelter.
Once you arrive in the forest we can’t even begin to describe its beauty. The bark of the trees create a beautiful texture and a red hue that surrounds the forest. The moody light streaming through the leaves and the tall trees created a perfect backdrop for this engagement session.
It was a cold and wet morning in winter but the rain didn’t stop us. We were so thrilled to see that the couple embraced it all and were still willing and happy to go on this photography adventure.
We took a walk right into the forest and stood beneath a canopy of trees. All we could hear were the sound of rain drops and birds with no one else in sight. It really was perfect. Maddie and Hamish were so wonderful to work with. They snuggled up in each others arms to keep warm and really embraced the moment together. The whole setting was so romantic. We loved every minute of photographing this session.
“These (photos) are so beautiful, thank you so so so much! We are so excited for the wedding and wedding photos! You’re amazing”
Maddie & Hamish
If you are recently engaged, we highly recommend pre wedding photo sessions as they are a great way to get to know and feel comfortable around your photographer. With us, the Berhardts think of it more like a double date in a pretty location! Before we photographed Maddie and Hamish’s pre wedding shoot at the Redwood forest, we talked about the look and feel of the photos, what to wear, the colour palette and what mood we wanted to create. As photographers we feel it is important (and fun) to plan out a shoot and vision. We are so happy with how the photos turned out.
This location is not only great for pre wedding photo shoots but can easily be a beautiful location for an elopement or intimate wedding.
